Your tyre is one of the most critical of components on your bike, or any vehicle for that matter, and a well-maintained tyre will not only ensure that you get where you are going faster but also more safely and with less risk to other motorists. Great tyres optimise performance, allowing you to take sharp turns; travel over snow, rain, and dirt with minimal trouble; and also to handle a sudden dip or bump in the road without visiting the side of the road. At the end of the day, however, not all motorists notice right away the signs that indicate a problem and learning of them beforehand may help you to avoid the frustration of a sudden issue.

Wear and Tear

The most common sign of trouble and the reason why you may need cheap motorcycle tyres to replace the current tyres on your bike is wear and tear. This is one issue that is as inevitable as a sunset. Manufacturers place a tyre wear indicator, or TWI, on the sidewall of each tyre to help motorists determine whether or not their tyres are worn out enough to warrant replacing at their earliest convenience. Look for a triangular arrow that will indicate the level of wear on your tyre. If you do see this arrow, it is clear you that should no longer use that tyre any further and it is time for a change.

Additionally, the shape of the tyre is something that you cannot afford to ignore and you must consider replacing your tyres once the arrow appears even if only one side is actually worn down too far. An uneven tyre will increase the risk of an accident or worse and it will also lower your fuel efficiency over time, effectively costing you more by the end of it all.

Cupping or Scalping

This is yet another sign of uneven wear and tear on your vehicle and is found on the front tyre. This is a condition that is caused by the tyre becoming worn out along the length of the tread and it may lead to handling and stability issues over time, which will in turn make it more difficult for you to safely manoeuvre your vehicle down the road under any conditions. Scalping is also likely caused by poor suspension on your vehicle and it may prove beneficial to you to call on a team of experts to inspect your vehicle to determine the cause of the problem and then have it serviced to correct it. It is always better to discover a problem and then spend a bit of money to correct it than it ever will be to discover that you have a serious problem only after you get into a collision.

Punctures or Cuts

Too many punctures or cuts will only diminish the durability and safety of your tyre over time and changing it must become your priority once you discover the problem. Doing so will not only reduce the risk of an accident on the road but also of your vehicle sustaining any amount of serious damage.
